No. But change jumping off a bridge to starting a blog and the answer is yes.

obama meets bartlett

I just read this article from the New York Times. In it, Aaron Sorkin (the creator of the amazing show The West Wing) writes a scene where Barack Obama meets Jed Bartlett. It really makes me wish that Jed Bartlett wasn't fictional. Well, even more than I did already.

I loved reading it for the political commentary which Aaron Sorkin is just so good at, but I also loved it because I just miss The West Wing so much. It was like getting to read part of a new episode.

Anyway, here it is: Obama meets Bartlett.

hello there internet!

I have resisted for so long, but I have finally started a blog. My relationship with the internet has been rocky, but at the moment, I think we're on good terms. In high school I was resistant to things like livejournal and myspace, but eventually caved and joined up. Those didn't last. More recently I was convinced to join facebook to play online scrabble. They got rid of the scrabble, but still, I hang around to keep in touch.

Forums are another thing I have had issue with. I tried a few times to start posting on them, but every time I either got bored or was driven out by cliquey users.

Then I found the PPK.

The PPK is a vegan forum where people discuss food, cooking, vegan stuff, diy, entertainment, and basically any random thing that comes into their heads. I love it. It has become my home on the internet and has actually changed my life (god that sounds pathetic). By that I mean that it helped me transition into veganism. I also made some good friends through it and even found love.

Since signing up for the PPK about a year and a half ago, my relationship with the internet has become much more friendly. I sign up for online communities, and I sometimes even keep up with them. I read blogs. I spend hours sitting in front of my computer in the middle of the night refreshing the PPK forums to see if anyone has posted anything new... but not in a weird, sad way.. really.

So now I feel like I can start a blog. But I didn't have anything specific I wanted to blog about, so I started this crappy thing. Enjoy.
